Priestley in the Snow

This statue of J B Priestley (1894-1984) stands outside the National Media Museum in Bradford city centre.

I photographed this statue of one of the most famous sons of the city of Bradford on a cold and snowy day. Priestley stands on a stone plinth and looks out across to city hall. This larger than life statue in bronze by sculptor Ian Judd was commissioned by Bradford City Council after the writers death. This statue was unveiled by the writers widow Jacquetta Hawkes in 1986.

Just outside the Victorian town hall in Bradford city centre there are construction works in progress. I took this photo from across the way just next to the former Odeon cinema.

Welcome to this the first post of this the Bradford Daily Photo, this being a photo blog about the Yorkshire city of Bradford.
